A teacher must possess a pass at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent in the language medium of the course, module or subject he is deployed to teach, as well as the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- if he has less than 5 years of working experience in the field to which the course, module or subject relates, qualifications in that field which are at least 1 level higher than the level of the course;
- if he has at least 5 years of working experience in the field to which the course, module or subject relates, qualifications in that field which are at least equivalent to the level of the course; or
- if he has at least 5 years of working experience in the field to which the course, module or subject relates, qualifications in a different field which are at least 1 level higher than the level of the course
